Job Opening: Drafter-Modeler Trainee

Job Description

Nucor Detailing Center, located in Norfolk, Nebraska, is seeking individuals to fill openings in our Onsite Training Program.

Basic Functions:

Drafter/Modelers will be trained to use customized CAD programs to create 3D Models, field erection drawings and shop bill of materials for fabrication of Nucor building components based on customers contract drawings. These Models/Drawings are then used to specify the exact information required by our various plants and divisions to produce the product that fulfills our customer’s specific needs. The Drafter/Modeler must effectively communicate all aspects with customers and resolve any and all construction issues throughout the drafting/modeling process. 

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Must be willing to relocate to NDC’s Norfolk, Nebraska facility
• Must have strong Math skills
• Must have strong computer knowledge
• Solid work history (2 years full-time minimum) or college degree
• Proven history of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferences:

• Must be hard working, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Must have positive attitude and willingness to learn and be a part of a team
• Any drafting software exposure or constructions background beneficial
